Welcome to Fratelli Tutti!

Well, after wanting to make this change for a long, long time, I have finally taken the plunge and started the process of updating my British Catholic Blogs blog.

In this post, I will run through some of the changes that I have made.

URL
From britcat to fratelli-tutti. I probably (definitely) should have advertised the changeover first but I made the change without thinking of it. Apologies if you were caught out and thank you for seeking the blog out. Pray for me that I might be more organised in the future.

Blog Name
What was British Catholic Blogs is now Fratelli Tutti. This is to reflect my longstanding desire that this blog be more than just, well, a list of British Catholic blogs. The name Fratelli Tutti was famously uttered by St. Francis of Assisi but I found it through Pope Francis and his encyclical of the same name. It means 'All Brothers and Sisters', which is who this blog is for, both in terms of its content and readership.

Changing the 'Home' page and Adding a 'Latest Blog Posts' and 'Blog List Page'
Blogger allows you to have just one page on which you can write multiple blog posts, and as many pages as you wish on which you may write only one post. For a long time, I didn't mind, but it became a frustration when I started writing my own blog posts as it meant that whenever I wrote a new one, I would have to delete the old. When I wrote a post about the death of Pope Francis on Monday, I wrote the latest post 'on top of' the old, but that wasn't ideal.

To get round the problem, I have now moved the two posts that were formerly on my multiple blog posts page to two separate single post pages. The two posts were the one advertising this weeks saints etc and the one with the list of blogs. The former can now be found on the page titled Home, and the latter on the page titled Blog List

With that done, I will now use the multiple blog posts page for just that purpose. The first post here is actually my last two blog posts, which were formerly on the single post page.

Header Image
For the first time in 19 years, this blog has a header image. It is, of course, the view from the top of St. Peter's basilica at the Vatican in Rome, looking down over St. Peter's Square. The photograph was taken by Andy Luo. Both it and more of his work can be found on Unsplash.

Phew. I hope the above is all making sense! If you have any comments or queries please don't hesitate to leave a comment or send me an email at mjmannBCB@gmail.com. This email address is actually out-of-date now so I will make a new one to reflect the blog's new title in due course. There are other changes that will need to be made. For instance, I need to update the About the BCB List page. I will update you on my progress as and when I make it (UPDATE: This has now been done).
